Twin Rivers Opportunities, Inc. is private, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization governed by a Board of Directors. The day to day operations of the agency are managed by an Executive Director and administered by a highly skilled and motivated staff.
Our mission at Twin Rivers Opportunities, Inc., is
To expand the agency's service to the optimum provision of housing assistance and home ownership opportunities to very low and lower income families residing in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties.
We administer the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) and Family Self-Sufficiency Programs for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Housing Choice Voucher Program is the federal government's major program for assisting with affordable, decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Our local program assists US citizens or documented alien certifications who are 18 years of age or older or emancipated head of househould that have low to very-low income and reside in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties.
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) combines the use of an escrow account and coordination of local supportive services to assist families in achieving self sufficiency. Supportive services may include assistance with employment, education, and financial planning.
